This project, financed by CMA CGM Corporate Foundation, includes the installation of 280 solar panels in 2 French-speaking schools, a total of 162 KWp green energy .

Implemented by ULEAP under IECD, this initiative aims to harness solar energy for the operational sustainability of schools while promoting renewable energy use. It also focuses on training young people in the installation and refurbishment of photovoltaic systems. As a result of these efforts, 16 young individuals have been trained, including 8 young women, and 280 solar panels have been installed at two beneficiary schools in Lebanon.

The ULEAP team approached their solar project comprehensively, beginning with detailed energy audits to identify efficiency opportunities and customize the photovoltaic (PV) systems to meet each school's specific needs. They carefully designed and engineered the systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory and technological standards. Following this, the team enhanced the electrical infrastructure and meticulously assembled electrical panel boards (ATS and MTS) during installation. Throughout the project, ULEAP provided continuous maintenance, monitoring, and support for end users, ensuring optimal performance and sustainability.

This holistic process not only delivered a reliable solar energy solution but also empowered local communities through job creation and skill development

Project Impact:

  1. Cost Savings: By utilizing solar energy, the schools have significantly reduced electricity costs, enabling them to allocate more resources to educational activities.
  2. Sustaining Operations: The consistent and reliable power supply from solar panels helps the schools maintain uninterrupted operations, even in areas with unstable electricity grids and unstable economic situations.
  3. Environmental Impact: The project reduces reliance on non-renewable energy, contributing to a greener environment and fostering sustainability awareness among students and the community.
