This project, financed by Saint Gobain Foundation, includes the installation of 144 solar panels in 4 schools, a total of 79.2 KWp green energy.

Implemented by ULEAP in collaboration with IECD, this initiative seeks to leverage solar energy to enhance the operational sustainability of schools while promoting renewable energy use.

Additionally, it focuses on training young individuals in the installation and refurbishment of photovoltaic systems. As a result of the collective efforts, 31 young people have received training, and 144 solar panels have been installed across nine beneficiary schools in Lebanon.

The ULEAP team approached the solar project comprehensively, beginning with thorough energy audits to identify efficiency opportunities and customize the photovoltaic (PV) system for each school’s specific needs. They carefully designed and engineered the system to comply with all regulatory and technical standards. Following this, the installation process involved upgrading the electrical infrastructure and meticulously assembling electrical panel boards (ATS and MTS). Throughout the project, ULEAP ensured ongoing maintenance, monitoring, and support for end users, aiming for optimal performance and long-term sustainability.

This integrated approach not only provided a dependable solar energy solution but also empowered local communities by creating jobs and fostering skill development.

Project Impact:

  1. Cost Savings: By harnessing solar energy, the schools have notably lowered their electricity expenses, allowing them to direct more resources toward educational initiatives.
  2. Sustaining Operations: The dependable power supply from solar panels enables the schools to operate smoothly without interruptions, even in regions with unstable electricity grids and economic challenges.
  3. Environmental Impact: The project decreases dependence on non-renewable energy, promoting a healthier environment and raising sustainability awareness among students and the community.
